Off to a good start

A meeting of highly engaged people, great hospitality in Badalona in Spain and a basket full of innovative ideas for social and health care integration made for a great start of BeyondSilos.

Badalona, 10 February 2014. The BeyondSilos project began this month with a kick-off meeting of all partners in Badalona, Spain. It proved to be a great start to an ambitious project. Partners from seven European regions came together to take the next step towards the better integration of social and health care services for older people. Apart from getting to know each other, the meeting was focussed on the presentation and discussion of the services that each region is planning to put into practice. Luckily, the BeyondSilos partners do not have to start from scratch: several of them already have experience in service integration and all of them know will get help and support from SmartCare, a great deployment initiative that started in 2013.

But is was not all work in Badalona. Enjoying the phenomenal hospitality of the colleagues of Badalona Serveis Assistencials (BSA), the BeyondSilos partners also got to know the ancient history and culinary delights of Badalona. In the end, everyone at the meeting was convinced that it would not primarily be a challenging but an interesting project that they had engaged in.
